About Me

I love the air, the sky and open space. I love the wind.
I love the moon, the sunrise and the sunset.
I love water. I am Pisces. I love flowers and trees.
I love earth. I love fire. I LOVE LIFE.

I love the Body and the endless ways to express itself,
different ways for a woman, a man, a baby, a child, different in every culture.
I love the Body when it dances …slow, flamenco, tango, African, South American.
I love the Body when it sings…a song, classic, blues, gospel….
So many different Bodies, all unique.

I love my Body and its innate wisdom, its blue print for health and its self-regulating forces.
I love the vibrations in my Body, the waves, the Primary Respiration.
I love breathing, deeply, consciously.
I love to reset my nervous system with my breath.
I love the stillness in my mind when I consciously breath. Then I sense the connection with the universe, the Breath of Life, sustaining all life.
I love plant based food and essences, creating wellness for my Body and nourishing all my cells.

Krist'l D'haene

Hi, my name is Krist’l D’haene

I am Belgian currently living in Thailand, I am holistic midwife and bodyworker, supporting body-mind-spirit health from a multifaceted approach through Yoga, Ayurveda, Essential Oils, CranioSacral Therapy, Massages and pre-peri and postnatal support as doula with child birth education and hypnobirthing.

My mission in life is to lovingly support the women from menarche into menopause so that she can live a holistic wellness lifestyle. I particularly love mothering a new mother, father and baby so that they can grow together in love and peaceful trust.

For 43 years I suffered of migraine, so many days and nights, and no medicine helped. Until I started looking at the bigger picture: how I was conceived and born, my core beliefs-thoughts-emotions-actions, my habits, my subconscious mind, lifestyle, food, social relations, myself giving birth to my son. The imbalances creating disturbance in my body were to be found there. I embarked on a conscious journey. I studied and practiced Kundalini Yoga, Ayurveda, different types of Massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Essential Oils. I recognized the patterns creating the migraines. That is where I tapped into healing my being. It’s a fantastic wonderful life long journey. I keep on studying, there are so many things I want to learn! Traditional Chinese Medicine is another chapter I like to dive into.

I love my Body now more than ever. I am free from migraines. I live and heal in with a conscious mindset.

I came to South East Asia in 1996, to Laos. Then Cambodia and currently based in Bangkok.

Being pregnant and having a baby while living an expat life, away from friends and family, comes with specific challenges. I’m there to support you!

Today I reach out to you with all my wisdom, skills, experience of a wise woman. So you can heal too, trusting the innate Intelligence of your Body. We are born to experience Life at its fullest. Happiness is our birth right!

Certified Nurse Midwife, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Thai Massage Therapist, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, Hormone Yoga Therapist, Aquanatal Yoga Teacher, Hypnobirthing Instructor, Ayurveda Food & Lifestyle and Ayurveda Massage Therapist, Essential Oils DoTERRA Wellness Advocate.

I hold a Bachelor Degree in Nursing/Midwifery and a Master in Communication Sciences from Belgium. I had the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare settings in SE Asia and in Belgium. I work in medical and non-medical field with NGO and International Organizations in Mother Child Health in Laos, Thailand and Cambodia for 20 years: in health centres in remote rural areas, refugee camps, government hospitals and high standard international hospitals. In Belgium I worked for 22 years in hospitals and nursing homes.

And I love languages! I have learned 11 languages, i am still learning and still speak most of them.

My journey in women's health began when I was studying nursing/midwifery in my twenties in Belgium. I was living a hectic lifestyle with very regular migraines and I used lots of medication. I moved in between jobs around the globe.

In Bangkok I met my husband, got pregnant, had a miscarriage, got pregnant again and gave caesarean birth to my son in 2002. As an elderly mom at 43, he was a precious child. Even though my Thai husband was very present, it was a lonely experience, away from my support network and the medical framework I was used to in Belgium. And the migraines were still there… I kept on searching for relief and healing.

I decided to CONSCIOUSLY support my own health and healing in 2010. Finishing a hectic job as Midwifery Technical Advisor with UNFPA in Cambodia, I embarked on Kundalini Yoga training and teaching, followed by Kundalini Pre/Postnatal Yoga training in China. I stepped into another world: I slowly adopted a new lifestyle with a transformation in my body, mind and spirit.

My holistic practice Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond in Cambodia 2011 - 2015

Soon I was teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga in Phnom Penh. I loved the babies and the new moms and I added baby massage in the postnatal yoga class. Later on I introduced the moms to aquanatal yoga and baby swimming. And I was doula at birth and in postpartum. Here an article about me in the February 2014 issue of ASIALIFE: http://www.asialifemagazine.com/cambodia/midwife-kristl-dhaene/

Studying Thai massages in Wat Po in Bangkok

While living off and on in Bangkok, I loved the Thai massage courses in Wat Po https://www.watpomassage.com/EN/home I did them all: Thai traditional massage, oil massage, foot massage and women’s health massage. This was the missing service in my holistic approach of supporting pregnant/postnatal moms. Giving an oil massage is my favourite!

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

During a trip to Bumi Sehat natural birth centre from Midwife Robin Lim in Bali in 2013, I met a trainee craniosacral therapist providing free sessions. Remembering my son’s long cries after birth, I had consulted a osteopath to help him, with great results. Of course I was interested taking the course! So I embarked on this incredible 2 years journey with Body Intelligence in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. I discovered similarities with the yoga training: Primary Respiration, the Breath of Life sustaining all life in the universe, is called Prana in yoga. To certify, I provided 150 free sessions in Phnom Penh, discovering how the body can heal through a gentle safe touch. And I discovered that my nervous system was too often in overdrive, creating the migraines.

Belgium 2015 - 2018

We moved to Belgium in 2015 where my son tried out the Belgian school system. I trained in HYPNOBIRTHING with http://www.muchamama.nl in The Netherlands while offering sessions. I experienced that the mental/emotional preparation to birthing is surely as important as the physical preparation usually offered in a child birth class.

In 2017 I was lucky to train with Brazilian Dinah Rodrigues, the 91 years young lady who created HORMONE YOGA THERAPY for women, men and diabetes https://www.dinahrodrigues.com.br/home-en .It was absolutely amazing to be in her presence, her brightness and sharpness struck me. She inspired me to think and feel totally different about aging. Now I practice hormone yoga therapy few times week and I feel radiance inside and all fears of aging slowly dissipate. I give workshops for women in menopause, man in andropause but also younger men and women with hormone imbalances.

Ayurveda, the LOVE of my life

AYURVEDA, the sister of yoga, has long time been a topic of interest to me. In 2018 I graduated as Ayurveda lifestyle/food consultant and massage therapist at the School of Ayurveda https://www.lies-ameeuw.com/en  in Gent, Belgium. Ayurveda is the oldest health system in the world and just like yoga, they both are very actual today and intimately linked.
With ayurveda foods, herbs and daily self-care, I experience today very profound and lasting changes in my heath as the 43 years old migraines have disappeared.

Plant Based Essential OILS DoTERRA

I discovered the plant based essential oils magic in 2020. doTERRA opened office in Bangkok, Thailand in April 2021. Perfect timing to explore, in the middle of the isolation created by the pandemic! I am on a mission to experience the multiple benefits of oils and share them.

Krist'l D'haene Bangkok Holistic Health

so I have a long way to walk on my path! Therefore I take very good care of my body, heart and soul combining all I have learned in life so far. I eat Ayurveda foods as much as possible, I massage my body and 5 senses with warm oils adapted to my body type, I practice hormone yoga few times a week, I run and I meditate. And most importantly, I stay away from anything that triggers stress and turns on my sympathetic nervous system. I feel most happy when I’m in nature and can best resource there. I love singing in the choir and I wish to play saxophone very well, so I need to keep practicing. I do strongly believe we can get 100 or more, if we know how to best take care of our self and DO IT.
